Fast Ferry numbers for September have been revealed. The rider-ship numbers are down from the rest of the summer, as expected. However, they are the closer to the city's original projections and closer than July and August ended up being.
According to information, NEWS 10NBC obtained from City Hall, nearly 26,000 passengers rode the ferry in September. The average number of passengers per trip was slightly over 300. That is less than August, but more than July. More than 3,600 cars were on the ferry over the course of the month.
Bay Ferries reduced the ferry's schedule twice in September due to decreasing rider-ship and the increasing fuel costs. The total number of passengers from the end of June to the end of September is officially 98,066.
The Rochester Ferry Company has still not released the financial details for the month of September. Over July and August the company lost more than $4- million.
